1988 BMW R100RT




In the first 1000 miles of my ownership, the engine hasn't used any oil. The transmission also seems to shift well although it still has the familiar BMW clunk. The tyranny does whine a bit which I didn't notice on my previous airhead. I believe that the full fairing allows me to hear the straight cut gears running. Top cog is silent. It is the only helically cut pair of gears in the tyranny.

All-in-all, the bike seems to be in fairly good shape for a 20 year old machine. I think that it is mechanically sound and will provide me with several miles of enjoyable riding.
